2 Telangana farmers crowned winners of Kiki challenge; this video has no car
Hyderabad: Move over celebrities, actor and dancing legends, the internet, seems to have finally crowned the winner of the dangerous Kiki challenge.
Two farmers from Telangana have danced their way to victory as video footage shows them shaking a leg and two beside a pair of bullocks – on the field.
The safe and eco-friendly performance sans a car has managed to win hearts over.
The video, posted by Comedian and TV show host Trevor Noah saw him writing, “they just won the Keke challenge".
The duo in the video, Geela Anil Kumar, 24, and 28-year-old Pilli Thirupathi, with their simplicity, innocence and rustic charm, coupled with the peppy beats of rapper Drake’s hit number, “In my feeling” managed to attract millions of netizens.
The video, conceptualised and uploaded by filmmaker Sriram Srikanth on his YouTube channel "My Village Show", showcases "culture, development activities, festivals, fun things, awareness programmes, short films, political situations and everything" about his village Lambadipally in Karimnagar district of Telangana.
Intrigued by police messages advising people against dancing alongside a moving car, he watched numerous Kiki videos. Finding them risky, he decided to shoot a safe yet fun version.
He discussed the idea with the duo from the village and they loved it. While they did practise the dance before being shot, but everyone agrees that the the best moments came from their impromptu moves.
The internet loved their "awesome way of life". An Instagram user said, "this is everything. How do we beat this?"
Social media’s newest trend sees people jumping out of a slow moving car and dancing alongside to the tunes of “In my feeling”.
The Kiki challenge is also known as “doing the Shiggy” due to Shiggy being the one who first posted it.
