Karimnagar: Having been refused permission to take up his hunger strike at Indira Chowk in Karimnagar, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar began his protest in front of his home on Saturday.
Mr Prabhakar is demanding that the government establish a medical college in the district as promised by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Senior Congress and BJP leaders, including Mr K. Jana Reddy and Bandi Sanjay expressed solidarity.
