Telangana: 3 thieves held, valuables found
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police arrested three persons, including a known criminal, on Saturday in Meerpet and Vanasthalipuram and recovered Rs 7 lakh worth valuables from them. They are K. Srinivas, A. Narsaiah and G. Giddanna.
Police said that Srinivas, 30, a catering worker and Narsaiah, 19, a construction worker came to Snehamayinagar on the night of July 17 and broke into the house of one G. Venkataramakrishna Prabhu, while the residents were away and stole gold and silver jewellery.
On Saturday morning when they were waiting near a jewellery store in Vijayapuri colony to sell the stolen jewellery cops nabbed them. Police recovered 12 tolas of gold, 30 tolas of silver, a digital camera and a watch worth Rs 5 lakh from them.
In the second case, G. Giddanna, 29, a labourer used to travel in RTC buses and rob passengers. He also targeted people at marriage functions. He was earlier arrested in Atmakur and Kurnool and in the city. After release he committed two more thefts in Meerpet. He was arrested on Saturday and 60 grams of gold and Rs 1 lakh were recovered from him. Police said they would be sending a proposal to detain him under the PD Act.
