Sircilla: Payments made to contractors for the developmental works under municipalities and corporations would be paid from now onwards through an online process via the ‘Online Bill Processing system’.
The secretary of the state finance commission, Suresh Chanda started the Online Bill Processing system for the first time in Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday selecting the Sircilla Municipality for the pilot project.
Mr Chanda explained the functioning of the system and the online billing process through a power point presentation to the accountants, contractors and press persons and cleared their doubts.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chanda said that the Online Bill Processing system will be user friendly and easy to access. A user manual will be available to get full details about its functioning.
The system had been introduced by the state government with an aim to be transparent in bill payments to the contractors. Within two days time bills of the contractors will be paid after completion of work though ‘First in and first out” process.
Anybody can easily access and observe the mode of payments paid to the contractors in this system, he informed.
Mr Chanda said that very soon this Online Bill Processing system would be introduced in all municipalities and corporations across the state.
Sircilla Municipal commissioner Dr. K. V. Ramanachary and accountants of various municipalities along with contractors were present.
