Compost machines must: GHMC
Hyderabad: Hotels, restaurants, function halls, kalyana mandapams and banquet halls that fall under the bulk garbage generators (BGG) category must instal on-site compost machines in their premises by August 15, the GHMC said.
Commercial establishments that generate above 50 kg of waste per day fall in the BGG category. The GHMC said, “As per the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, all bulk garbage generators producing 50 kg of waste per day have to instal composting machines on their premises to process the wet waste. The GHMC is providing adequate time, till August 15, for all the BGGs to procure and instal the compost machines.”
The corporation said in case any BGG failed to implement the rule within the deadline, the GHMC would take action against them.
