Motorists using 'Nice Road' have to pay more toll: Karnataka government
Bengaluru: Motorists using the NICE Road have to shell out on an average of 20 per cent more to as fares have been revised since July 1.
Sources in NICE said that the toll has been revised as per the provisions of the concession agreement entered with the state government.
It enables NICE to revise the toll rates every year by 10 per cent. However, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) had not revised the tariff for the last four years, they said. “The revised toll continues to be lower than the actual rates that the company is entitled to collect. The toll revision in inevitable to upkeep and maintain the international standard infrastructure,” said an official media release from NICE.
The tariff increase will be effective on Hosur Road to Bannerghatta Road, Bannerghatta Road to Kanakapura Road, Kanakapura Road to Clover leaf interchange, Clover leaf interchange to Mysuru Road, Mysuru Road to Magadi Road and Magadi road to Tumakuru road.
In comparative graphic, NICE claimed that NICE tolls are lesser than the tariff for the Electronic city Expressway. The Electronic City Expressway too has hiked the toll with effect from July 1 and it is 15 per cent and above.
