Kerala: Most IT team wannabes unfit
Government was looking for young post-graduates from top 20 Indian business schools or top 100 global business schools.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even as over 250 young post-graduates from various business schools have shown interest in joining the Chief Minister’s six-member Fellow -IT team, only around 30 meet the desired eligibility criteria. According to sources, the government was looking for young post-graduates from the top 20 Indian business schools or top 100 global business schools. Also the desired upper age limit was 40. But only around 30 candidates have these qualifications. Ten among them will be shortlisted after an initial round of screening and at a second-level of screening, six will be selected. The CM’s fellows would be finalised this month, said the government source.
The Chief Minister’s Fellow-IT team is being constituted as per the recommendation of the recently formed High Power IT Committee comprising industry leaders. Infosys co-founder S D Shibulal is chairing the committee and its members include Infosys former chief executive officer Kris Gopalakrishnan. The Fellow-IT team was proposed in order to identify potential investors, drive corporate engagements that could lead to large scale investments in the IT sector and to work as a case worker by providing end-to-support for potential IT investors. Experience in corporate, business development or creative marketing sectors were among the eligibility criteria. The appointment will be on a two-year contract and remuneration would be at par with industry standards.
