CM sabotaged actor abduction case: M M Hassan

The PAC wanted the government to probe the black money and benami dealings of the Malayalam film actors.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president M.M. Hassan has alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had sabotaged the investigation into the actor abduction and rape case. Mr Hassan told reporters after a meeting of the political affairs committee that the PAC wanted the government to probe the black money and benami dealings of the Malayalam film actors. He alleged that Mr Vijayan’s earlier comment that there was no conspiracy in the rape case had derailed the probe.

“When the AMMA meeting was going on, it was evident that the CM was rooting for the hunters instead of the hunted. The CM should apologise to the people for making a misleading statement on the case,” he said. He also criticised actors K. B. Ganesh Kumar and Mr Mukesh, who are also MLAs, for their rude behaviour towards the mediapersons at the AMMA meeting.

The PAC will take up the preparations for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at its next meeting on August 5, he said. The Congress will take out a march on Thursday to Health Minister K. K. Shailaja’s home protesting against the rising fever deaths. The PAC said that the government was yet to consider the recommendations of the all-party meet on fighting the fever. Regarding the Munnar encroachment, Mr Hassan reiterated that the Congress does not support the stand of Mr A. K. Mani, KPCC vice-president, in support of the CPM local leaders in Munnar. The KPCC had sought his explanation on the issue.
