Hyderabad: Najaf Ali Khan and Mirza Mohib Baig, grandson and the great-grandson of H.E.H. — the VII Nizam of Hyderabad Late Mir Osmani Ali Khan Bahadur — who built the Osmania University have filed a Public Interest Litigation before the Telangana High Court opposing the unilateral action of the Osmania University in changing the name of the existing Osmania University Library to “Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar Library” without ascertaining any reason and without publishing any Gazette notification.
“The decision of the Osmania University officials has deeply hurt the sentiments of the heirs of late Mir. Osmani Ali Khan Bahadur,” he said in the petition.
He submitted that they have even approached the chief secretary of the Telangana government and gave a representation requesting to restore the old name.
