Bengaluru: Man crawls on hospital corridor, supdt says patient ignored advice
Bengaluru: A 65-year-old injured man was spotted crawling through the corridors of K.C. General Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after he was treated at the hospital. The patient, who had come alone from Konaghatta village near Doddaballapura, had been told by the hospital staff that he should inform his relatives to take him home as he needed assistance after treatment. But he failed to listen to them and crawled in the corridor for a few yards.
A video of his crawling, recorded on a cell phone, went viral immediately. In the video the elderly man is seen pulling himself with the help of his hands as his both legs are bandaged and is seen trying to get people's attention.
Clarifying, hospital Medical Superintendent Bhanu Murthy said, "After the treatment, the medical staff told him to sit and rest for a while as he was alone. But he did not listen and started crawling for a few yards. The hospital staff stopped him immediately and told him not to do it."
Mr Murthy also said that the patient's son-in-law told them that it was not the first time that the elderly man had tried to seek people's attention.
After the incident, Mr Murthy called a meeting of the staff members.
