Telangana: Sheep scheme to be launched on June 20
Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s sheep distribution scheme for Yadav/ Kurma community will be launched on June 20.
The state government has decided to distribute 84 lakh sheep in two years, of which 42 lakh will be distributed this year.
Minister for animal husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday reviewed the implementation of scheme with senior officials at Secretariat. He asked officials to make all the arrangements for the smooth implementation of the scheme.
Mr Yadav said that the state government has been purchasing sheep from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Naidu and Karnataka. He also asked officials to arrange adequate medicines and fodder for sheep in advance.
“We should not confine ourselves to mere distribution of sheeps. We should also be able ensure adequate medicines and fodder for their survival,” he said.
