Prasad tried to grab Bowenpally land, says owner

Congressman Yadgiri, Prasad knew each other: Hameedunissa

Hyderabad: The famous Bowenpally shooting case, in which an assailant fired six rounds at local Congress leader Yadgiri, had a connection with the notorious businessman P.S Prasad. A testimony given to the probe officials from a land owner, Hameedunnisa, wife of the late Nawab Ghous Mohiuddin Khan, has now surfaced, revealing that Yadgiri was working for P.S Prasad to grab her land. To threaten the land owner, Yadgiri hired goons, who later turned against Yadgiri and tried to kill him for not paying them the promised remuneration.

In a letter titled “information on recent shooting incident at Bowenpally”, written by Hameedunnisa, she had warned that P.S. Prasad, his brother Parthasarathy and Goldstone director P.V.S. Sharma have been encroaching on several properties including her family-owned land.

According to Hameedunnisa’s letter, which was sent in the third week of August 2016 after the shooting took place, Yadgiri and his associates encroached on her land at Hasmathpet village on behalf of Prasad and his brother. She also alleged that Yadgiri is benami of Prasad and he has been hiring goons to threaten land owners across the city.

After the Bowenpally shooting, in which the attackers followed Yadgiri from his home to the hospital to kill him, police had arrested Dhakuri Babu, who had earlier worked for Yadgiri.

Babu confessed to police that he was hired by Yadgiri to carry out murders and land grabbing offenses. But Yadgiri did not pay him enough after the job and that had infuriated him.

After the Miyapur land scam came to light, Hameedunnisa lodged a complaint against the Miyapur land scam suspects P.V.S. Sharma and Parthasarathi at Bowenpally police station.

In the new complaint, Hameedunnisa alleged that Prasad and his men have already alienated 64 acres of land from five different housing societies in Hasmathpet.

She alleged that the suspects have forged false documents to encroach on the private properties in the same area.
