Hyderabad: RTA seeks parents' help
Hyderabad: RTA officials are seeking active role of parents and parents’ associations for smart and safe school buses and auto-rickshaw services.
Medchal District Transport Officer Srinivas Puppala said that the transport department had earlier launchded ‘TS School Bus App’ for android versions of smartphones for parents to monitor the drivers and track the bus. “Parents can get details of the drivers, seating capacity and fitness details apart from driving licence details of the school bus drivers through the app. By entering details of the registration of any school bus in the state, parents can get these details,” he said.
Mr Srinivas said that parents could lodge complaints in cases of imposters on driving seats against the details available with the App. “They can lodge complaints with the DTO, RTO or MVI on overloading and fitness related issues,” he said.
Taking responsibility of surveillance in school buses, he said, “As per the Motor Vehicle Rule 185 (G), one parent should travel with students in school buses everyday for ensuring the safety of children as well as to direct drivers,” he said.
