Telangana-origin judges may lose, says JAC

T. Sriranga Rao said that the Telangana subordinate judicial officers would mark the protest by wearing black badges during the lunch hour.

Hyderabad: Advocates JAC convener T. Sriranga Rao said the provisional allotment of judicial officers would hamper the elevation of Telangana-origin judges to the High Court and other judicial posts in Telangana state. “Great injustice was done in the provisional allotment which saw AP-origin judicial officers getting more posts,” he said.

According to Mr Gandra Mohan Rao, president of the Hyderabad High Court Bar Association, representatives of all associations resolved to launch the agitation against the delay in bifurcation of the High Court between Telangana state and AP and to protest of the recent provisional allocation of subordinate judicial officers between the two states

He said that the Telangana subordinate judicial officers would mark the protest by wearing black badges during the lunch hour. Judicial officers will apply for mass casual leave on June 13. “If the allocation is finalised, Andhra rule will continue in Telangana courts and in the High Court for three decades,” the JAC said.
