Telangana: Call to revamp government schools

A sincere effort is lacking from government side to strengthen the government schools, whose graph was dipping each year alarmingly.

Hyderabad: Introduction of pre-primary sections (nursery, LKG and UKG), increased stress on English medium study and filling of vacant posts for teachers are needed to ensure public repose their faith in government schools, United Teachers Federation (UTF) said. Enrollment in government schools start from First Standard at present.

In its state executive meeting held here on Sunday, teachers, affiliated to UTF, expressed their ire on government for its negligent attitude towards government schools.

A sincere effort is lacking from government side to strengthen the government schools, whose graph was dipping each year alarmingly.

The meeting passed a series of resolutions, like advancing the academic year from March 21 every year, payment of PRC arrears etc. which will be brought to the notice of education department.
