Family refuses body of Mathura plotter Ram Vraksh Yadav

The police will now perform his funeral in Mathura.

Lucknow: The family of Ram Vraksh Yadav, the key accused in the Mathura clashes, has refused to claim his body.

While the wife and children of Ram Yadav are reported missing after Thursday’s violence at Jawahar Bagh, his relatives that include his brothers have declined to claim his body for carrying out the last rites.

Ghazipur SP Ram Kishor said that SO Mardah Durgeshwar Mishra was sent to Ram Vraksh Yadav’s home in his village but his brother refused to claim his body.

Earlier, SSP Ghazipur had written to Mathura SP on the report of village head Shivnath Yadav that Ram Vraksh’s family is not ready to claim his body for funeral. The police will now perform his funeral in Mathura.

About 23 children who were rescued from Jawahar Bagh during the clashes have now been sent to the protection home.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders were stopped form entering Jawahar Bagh in Mathura on Sunday. The BJP fact finding team had gone there to inspect the reasons behind Thursday’s violence which left two police personnel and 24 others dead.

The team included BJP MPs - Rajendra Agarwal, Rajvir Singh, Rajesh Diwakar and others. Reports say that arguments between BJP workers and police over entry into the Jawahar Bagh area took an ugly turn and led to scuffles.

“The Uttar Pradesh government never took any proper measures to prevent such an incident. Central agencies should be brought in to investigate the incident. Our state president has formed a team to look into the incident but they have stopped us form going in”, said senior BJP leader and union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
