Hyderabad: Restobar booked for opening before time

Hyderabad: The Chilkalguda police booked a case against the owner of White House Bar and Restaurant on Saturday for violating the statute of permissions established for the commercial operation of such establishments. Nadimetla Satish, 30, the cashier, was arrested while Gaddameedi Sai Baba, 56, the owner, has absconded.

According to the police, the establishment, located at the Mylargadda-Sitaphalmandi Crossroads in Chilkalguda, was opened around 9.00 am in the morning, which is against the rules.

The Telangana government has specified very clearly that bars and restaurants must operate only between 11.00 am and 12.00 am on weekdays and until 1.00 am on weekends.

Chilkalguda sub-inspector of police, A. Varunkanth Reddy told this newspaper that, “Following the complaint filed by constable Mudumbai Rangacharyulu, we registered a case on Saturday and arrested the cashier at the bar and restaurant. The owner, however, has absconded.”

The Chilkalguda police have registered a case under sections 353 and 506 of the IPC, Section 36 of the Telangana Excise Act, and section 21/76 of the CP Act against the owner of the establishment.
