Call to challenge Mecca Masjid blast verdict

Veerasam leader Varavara Rao said they will take up such cases legally in the courts.

Hyderabad: Several organisations have demanded that the State government challenge the acquittal of the five persons in the Macca Masjid blast by the NIA special court.

At a round table conference held here on Saturday, Lateef Mohd Khan, general secretary of Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee, pointed out that there is a trend across the country to liberate “Hindu radicals” who are involved in inhumane crimes.

“All those involved in persecuting the minorities, dalits and adivasis are being given a clean chit by the courts. In all cases, the government is influencing the investigation agencies and ensuring that the culprits are released. A national-level mass movement will be taken up to demand justice for the victims of all right wing purpotrated violence,” said Mr Khan.

Veerasam leader Varavara Rao said they will take up such cases legally in the courts. "At the same time, we will go to the public and explain the agenda of the right wing groups in suppressing the adivasis, dalits and Minorities across the country," he said.
