Bomb threats to Tamil Nadu CM, Rajinikanth residences

Meanwhile, police traced the number and identity of the caller.

Chennai: City police control room got a call that said he had planted bombs in residences of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and actor-politician Rajinikanth on Saturday night.

According to the sources, the police control room on Saturday received a call and the caller reportedly said he had planted bombs at Rajinikanth's house at Poes Garden as well as Cheif Minister’s official residence on Greenways Road.
Following the call, the bomb squad of Chennai rushed to both the spots and combed the houses. However the threat turned hoax.

Meanwhile, police traced the number and identity of the caller. “The calls have been traced to Cuddalore and the caller has been identified as Pradeep. He could be arrested at any moment,” police sources said.

However, other sources said that Pradeep made those calls from CMBT and has been secured by police. Following the threat, security has been beefed up at the residences of Chief Minister and Rajinikanth.
