Behanan will be able to resume campaigning only after medical experts give him clearance.

Kochi: UDF convener and Chalakudy candidate Benny Behanan was hospitalised after he experienced chest pain and related problems on Friday morning. He underwent angioplasty at the Sunrise Hospital, Kakkanad, and was put under observation.

The blood flow to the heart was normalised after emergency angiogram and angioplasty procedures were conducted by senior cardiologists Dr Balakrishnan and Dr P. Blessan Varghese.

“His general condition has improved and he is out of danger,” said hospital medical director, Dr K.R. Prathap Kumar.
