Telangana told to reply on plight of patients' families at hospitals

The Hyderabad High Court has directed the state government to inform the steps being taken to provide shelters to them within three weeks to it.

Hyderabad: Moving at the plight of attendants of patients who are forced to take shelters under trees and on pavements of various government hospitals across Telangana state, the Hyderabad High Court has directed the state government to inform the steps being taken to provide shelters to them within three weeks to it. A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K Vijaya Lakshmi was dealing with a taken up PIL based on a letter by Mr. Rapolu Bhaskar an advocate of the city.

In his letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court Mr. Bhaskar submitted that the government hospitals in the state are not allowing family members of the patients and their attendants to stay in the hospitals. He said particularly authorities of Niloufer and Gandhi hospitals in the city are not allowing the parents of children (patients) and their attendants to stay in the hospitals coming from all the districts and villages for treatment.
