Hyderabad: “Own your Tank” is the new slogan of the TRS government to attract businessmen, industrialists’ and NRIs to take part in its flagship Mission Kakatiya scheme. Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao called upon prominent personalities of the state to adopt a tank or lake in their areas and ensure its restoration under the scheme. On Tuesday, Shodhana Labs MD Giridhar handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to the minister, requesting him to utilise it for reviving Madikonda and Oora tanks in the district.
Dr Giridhar had contributed Rs 25 lakh for Mission Kakatiya last year. Lauding the doctor for his gesture, Mr Harish Rao called upon NRIs and successful businessmen to emulate the former. He reminded that Centre even gave IT exemption for donations made to Mission Kakatiya.
