Awareness drive for cleanliness

Residents at colonies and apartments are sticking to rules after the campaign.

Hyderabad: In order to clean up in the IT corridor, GHMC Serilingampally officials have launched an awareness campaign to explain why they intend to take stringent action against those who dump garbage on the roadsides.

GHMC officials have found 315 spots in the the 10 municipal divisions that cover the IT corridor, 76 in Serilingampally Circle 11 and the rest in Circle 12, where residents used to dump trash. Following directions from GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardan Reddy, deputy commissioners from both the circles have taken up awareness programmes. Circle 11 deputy commissioner V.V. Manohar said, “Residents at colonies and apartments are sticking to rules after our campaign. We are continuing our programmes in the slums."
