Bengaluru: With the coronavirus scare spreading to Karnataka, employees can take 28 days of paid leave if they furnish to their employers a medical certificate from ESI or any government hospital. The Labour Department has issued a circular to all employers to grant the leave should it be applied for.

According to the circular, deputy commissioners, district labour officers and distract health officers will be accountable to keep a watch on enforcement of coronavirus protocols.

The circular clarified that deputy commissioners, acting as district magistrates, should take strict action against employers who deny such leave to their staff.
