Hyderabad: Twenty-three-year-old Damera Malini climbed up a mobile phone tower and threatened to jump to death at Pegadapalli village on the outskirts of Warangal on Tuesday. Accusing a man of cheating her, she said she would end her life if justice was not served.
According to KUC circle inspector Raghavender Rao, Malini works as a nurse in a private hospital. She climbed onto the mobile phone tower, alleging that her lover Nakka Babu of the same village, had deceived her.
Villagers said that Malini and Babu were in a relationship for nine years. Babu recently got appointed as an electrician in Singareni collieries. As this attracted more dowry, he started avoiding Malini. Dejected after trying her best to convince him, she took the extreme decision to end her life. Police who arrived at the spot managed to bring her down.
