Five-day Krithi Literary fest starts today
KOCHI: The First Krithi International Book Exhibition and Literary Fest is entering the second stage on Tuesday with the launch of the five day literary festival at Bolgatty Palace on Tuesday. Events will be held on five stages named after legendary literary figures in Malayalam Karoor, M.P. Paul, Thakazhi, Ponkunnam Varkey and Lalithambika Antharjanam. The formal inauguration of the festival will be held at the Marine Drive venue at 6 pm on Tuesday and the literary festival will be conducted from Wednesday at the Bolgatty venue.
Marathi-English writer and scenarist Kiran Nagarkar will inaugurate the festival at a function presided over by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. Kerala Sahitya Akademi president Vysakhan, writers T Padmanabhan, M K Sanu, M Leelavathi, K Satchidanandan, C. Radhakrishnan, Rajan Gurukkal and Kriti creative director Shaji N Karun will attend. A total of 12 foreign delegates, over 60 non-Keralite Indian writers and 250 Kerala writers will take part in the festival.
There will be 130 sessions on five stages. The organisers have informed that those wishing to take part in the festival will be taken for free by road and boats from Marine Drive and High Court jetty to Bolgatty. Spot registration will start from 8 am on Wednesday by paying Rs 500 which is inclusive of lunch. The keynote address by Satchidanandan, N S Madhavan, M Mukundan and C Radhakrishnan at the Karur venue from 9 am to 9.45 am from March 7 to 10 will mark the beginning of the sessions on these days. The biography of Kumaranasan written by Prof M.K. Sanu will be released by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran on Tuesday.
