Telangana wings told to clear power arrears

K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the state inherited Rs1,600 crore in electricity bill arrears from undivided AP.

Hyderabad: Directing officials to ensure that all pending electricity bills along with arrears of various government departments are paid immediately, TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said that the state inherited Rs1,600 crore in electricity bill arrears from undivided AP.

He asked Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to see that Rs 1,600 crore is released to support the Discoms’ attempts to supply uninterrupted power in the state.

Mr Rao asked Chief Secretary to direct the respective district collectors and the heads of respective government departments to ensure that monthly electricity bills are paid by them.
