PMK leader wants eve-teasing case to be booked against S Sundararajan

He also alleged that the minister touched the T-shirts of women athletes creating a stir.

Chennai: PMK founder Dr S. Ramadoss on Saturday demanded the state to book an eve-teasing case against youth welfare minister S. Sundararajan.

In a statement the PMK leader alleged that the minister conducted a late night review meeting inside ladies hostel in Pudukkottai and asked unwanted questions. He also alleged that the minister touched the T-shirts of women athletes creating a stir.

It may be noted that a WhatsApp video went viral on Friday night showing the minister inspecting a girls’ hostel late night and asking personal questions related to the students’ family.

In his statement Ramadoss alleged that the minister was poking a girl at her waist enquiring about her T shirt. Sundararaj also asked another woman inmate on what game she played, and when the athlete replied she plays hockey, the minister mocks her, saying she did not look like a hockey player and adds on that she has put on weight.

The minister also wanted to know that whether her mother knows about her extra weight. Mr Sundararaj told local reporters that he had no malafide intentions, but visited the hostel only to congratulate and posted social questions with the athletes who won medals at the recent South Asian Games.

Efforts by DC to reach the minister on the issue proved futile. The manner and timing of his visit and his interaction is not in good in taste and is a clear case of outraging the modesty of a woman, Ramadoss said in his statement demanding immediate action.
