Nellore: Countdown for PSLV-C32 launch to begin on March 8
Nellore: Countdown for the launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C32) with Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS)-1F on board will commence at 4 pm on March 8 and the launch is scheduled for March 10 at 4 pm.
The 1,425 kg IRNSS-1F satellite is the sixth one among the seven satellite segment of IRNSS. The last one in the segment IRNSS-1G will be launched after the second week of April and this would pave for India to have its own GPS system.
With respect to PSLV-C32/IRNSS-1F mission, integration of all the four stages of the rocket has been completed and the scientists of ISRO arranged head shield around the satellite after mounting it on the rocket on Friday night.
Shar Director Kunhi Krishnan will flag off on Sunday to move the rocket along with satellite from the vehicle assembly building to second launch pad on Sunday. The mission readiness review meeting is scheduled to be held at Shar on Monday under the chairmanship of Dr Suresh. The Launch Authorisation Board will also meet on the same day evening to give green signal for the launch.
