LDF and CPM candidates' final list by March 20

The final list would be finalised by district leadership by March 10.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the discussion regarding candidates is on at various levels and the list would be finalised by March 20. The CPM leader said the entry of the breakaway faction of Kerala Congress into LDF would be discussed at length and a decision would be taken on the issue after seeking the opinion of all stake holders.

With the elections now almost two and half months away, there is a rethink among other LDF constituents regarding candidate selection. Many in the CPM believe that the time could be utilised at various levels to have detailed discussions on the prospective candidates and also get feedback from the public.

Meanwhile, the CPM Thiruvananthapuram district committee has held detailed discussions on prospective candidates for 10 constituencies. The district committee has sought exemption from the state committee for V Sivankutty and district secretary Kadakampally Surendran to contest the forthcoming Assembly polls from Nemom and Kazhakootam.
