Thiruvananthapuram: BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Mishra on Saturday said that JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar had changed his stand on Afzal Guru issue following public opinion. Mr Mishra while speaking to reporters here on Saturday alleged that Kanhaiya had earlier spoken against the hanging of Mr Afzal Guru.
However, he had to change his opinion about it following the reactions from various quarters, he alleged. The BJP leader said the Congress criticising the decision to hang Afzal Guru was like questioning the verdict of the Supreme Court and the President. He said both UDF and LDF had been given repeated chances to govern the state, now it was a time to give BJP an opportunity. He said a mandate for BJP would give the state a chance for transformation.
