Hyderabad: Former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya commented that the Supreme Court direction over the CBI versus West Bengal government was a slap on the face of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Mr Dattatreya said “This is a victory for democracy. West Bengal Chief Mini-ster Mamata Banerjee tried to create a Constitutional crisis.”
He alleged that Ms Mamata Banerjee and the Kolkata police commissioner enacted a drama in the name of deeksha, to escape from the Sarada chit fund scam. They had acted in an “atrocious manner” against CBI officials, he said, adding that they had treated CBI officials as criminals to protect the real criminals in the scam.
He said, “Finally, the truth has won. Once the Kolkata police commissioner is questioned, the truth will come out.”
