Ananthagiri eco tourism gets Rs 1.20 crore

He said that the Martyrs Park would be developed at Shivareddy Sagar which is located at the bottom of the hills.

Hyderabad: The Vikarabad district administration has sanctioned Rs 1.20 crore for taking up an Eco-Tourism Project at Ananthagiri Hills and adventure sports at Sarpanpally and Kotepally Lakes, besides developing a park called Telangana Amarveerula (Martyrs) Park costing Rs 7 crore.

Mr Syed Omar Jaleel, Vikarabad District Collector, told this correspondent that Ananthagiri Hills, one of the most attractive tourist spots in Telangana was the pride of Vikarabad district. Ananthagiri hills, the birthplace of river Musi, was an attraction for many nature lovers who were enthralled by the mesmerising beauty of the hills.

Keeping in view the increasing number of tourists to the hills on the weekends, the district administration had decided to introduce Aero and Water Sports and bird watching at Ananthagiri Hills, Kotepally and Sarpanpally lakes of the district.

He said that the Martyrs Park would be developed at Shivareddy Sagar which is located at the bottom of the hills. He said that Rs 75 lakh was sanctioned to the Forest department for the Eco Tourism project on the top of the hill.
