Hyderabad: PG student rapped for allowing lab touts
Hyderabad: A post-graduate student of Gandhi Hospital was warned by his superintendent, Dr Shravan Kumar, to stop private diagnostic centre agents from collecting any blood samples from the hospital.
This led to an altercation, after which all PG doctors from the hospital protested against the conduct of the superintendent on Monday morning.
It all started when Dr Kumar was carrying out his nightly inspections last week and caught two agents, P. Srinivas and A. Srinivas, collecting blood samples from patients in the hospital.
The two were taken into police custody and a case was booked against them.
During the interrogation, it was found that a PG doctor had asked them to collect samples. So Dr Shravan Kumar called for him and issued him a warning.
A senior doctor at Gandhi Hospital said, “The decision to warn the doctor was taken because we wanted the post-graduate student to realise the mistake. But they are making a big hue and cry about this and are complaining that they are being targeted.”
The post-graduate students allege that the superintendent used foul language and also abused the PG, so they protested. The police are now carrying out further investigations on the matter.
