Srikalahasti temple AEO suspended for forgery

The acts came to light after the Endowments department ordered an inquiry.

TIRUPATI: Hema Malini, an Assistant Executive Officer (AEO), who was working at Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Vari Devasthanam, Srikalahasti, was suspended by the Executive Officer of the temple after she was found to be involved in misleading the temple management and the AP Endowments department by forging documents to do favours to some of her colleagues at the temple to get promotions and benefits.

The falsified acts of the AEO came to light after the AP Endowments department ordered an inquiry recently to probe into the issue of fake documents and forged signatures. It was learnt that the department came to know about this after two computer operators, working at the Devasthanam, tried to obtain undue benefits with the forged documents.

In the inquiry, it was revealed that AEO Hema Malini tried to help the two computer operators identified as J. Chandra Sekhar and M. Radha Krishna, in getting the sanctions from the Andhra Pradesh Endowments, to get salaries as per the admissible SSR rates by allegedly forging the documents and signatures.

After a preliminary inquiry conducted by the AP Endowments, led by regional joint commissioner D. Brahmaramba, the involvement of AEOs was established in the fraud, based on which the EO of Srikalahasteeswara Devasthanams S. Rama Swamy placed her under suspension.

The EO said that an in-depth probe was launched and disciplinary action would be initiated against Hema Malini based on the inquiry.
