SP Vikrant Patil flagged off 28 patrolling vehicles

Speaking on the occasion, SP Mr Vikrant Patil said that the government had sanctioned Rs 50cr.

TIRUPATI: In a bid to add speed and strength to the cops that will help them to intensify patrolling, the Chittoor police department procured a fleet of 28 new patrolling vehicles, which were flagged off by Chittoor SP Vikrant Patil at the district police headquarters here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Mr Vikrant Patil said that the government had sanctioned Rs 50cr. to the police department to enable them to procure new patrolling vehicles for all its divisions. As part of the grant, Chittoor police wing was sanctioned with 97 vehicles, out of which about 28 vehicles have been added to the fleet on Saturday.

“With this add-on to the fleet, we have been boosted with speed and strength, which will help us to intensify the patrolling. The new vehicles will be distributed to the blue colts and BT system teams, which would be strengthened with the new fleet”, the SP added.

Mr Vikrant Patil further said that the district had been witnessing a consistent decline in road accidents and with this addition it was possible to intensify the highway patrol, which in turn would reduce the accidents.

Additional SPs, Ms E. Supraja, Mr Krishnarjuna Rao, Mr M.K. Radha Krishna, Dy SPs Mr S.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Mr N. Subba Rao, Mr Rama Krishna, Mr Krishna Mohan, Mr Ramaiah and other officials participated in the function.
