Rajahmundry: Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation plans to organise a 5K-run to raise awareness among people on conduct of Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme. The event will start from Lala Cheruvu Centre on NH-16 at 6.30 am on Sunday.
Municipal commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi, at a meeting held here on Saturday, stated that the run would start from Lala Cheruvu Centre and conclude at Pushkar Ghat covering Kambhala Tank Junction, Devi Chowk, Gokavaram Bus Stand and Dr B.R. Ambedkar statue. He said that students from Classes VIII to X in municipal schools and also those studying in junior and degree colleges would take part in the run. He called upon the managements of educational institutions to encourage a large number of their students to take part in the run. He said that local public representatives and municipal employees would also take part in it.
