Thrissur: A total of 2,200 police personnel will be on duty at the state school youth festival which begins here on Saturday.
Thrissur Range IG M R Ajith Kumar will be supervising the law and order and security aspects of the fest.
Apart from the officers at the Kerala Armed Police Battalion, cops from other districts like Palakkad, Malappuram and Ernakulam will be on duty at the fest which is being conducted across 24 venues.
There will be 10 DySPs, 10 CIs, 165 SIs and ASIs on duty at the fest along with 202 women civil police officers and 855 civil police officers. Another 1,223 volunteers will also be at the fest to assist the cops.
There will be police control rooms at all the venues and 124 CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the people attending the fest.
Cops in civil dress would also be present at the venues to prevent any untoward incidents during the fest, IG Ajith Kumar said.
