Hyderabad: Thugs loot Rs 2 lakh from businessman's car
Hyderabad: Unidentified suspects broke the window of a businessman’s car and looted Rs 5 lakh at KPHB on Thursday evening.
The victim, T. Ramasubba Reddy, was returning home after withdrawing money from a bank at Nizampet. The incident happened when he parked his car near JNTU and went to meet a friend.
T. Ramasubba Reddy, a resident of Nizampet, is into seeds business. On Thursday at around 4.45 pm, he withdrew Rs 5 lakh from Karur Vysya Bank.
Though he prefers online fund transfers, he had to withdraw money as the other party was insisting on cash. As the party did not turn on time, Mr Reddy went to meet a friend, Venkata Subbaraju Reddy. He parked his car near JNTU and crossed the road to reach his friend’s house, leaving the bag containing money in the vehicle.
When he came back, he found the window of the middle compartment broken open and the bag missing.
“We are verifying CCTVs in the surrounding areas. Though the area where he parked the car is not under the camera purview, we are trying to identify whether the suspects had followed him,” said Mr Balakrishna, detective inspector, KPHB police station.
In a similar incident at Rajendranagar on Wednesday, thugs broke open the windshield of a car and stole documents and DDs. A week ago, a 16-year-old boy looted a licenced weapon from a vehicle at Masab Tank.
