Hyderabad: The Disha case has forced the Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) on Wednesday to permit women to carry pepper spray while travelling on the metro.
“We have been receiving requests to allow girls and ladies to carry pepper spray on the metro for self-defence mechanism as on the Bengaluru metro,” said HMRL managing director NVS Reddy.
“Instructions have been issued to the operator,” Mr Reddy said.
