ADILABAD: The Congress star campaigner, veteran actress Kushboo on Tuesday slammed the TRS for distributing cheap polyester sarees to women on the occasion of Bathukamma. Dripping sarcasm, she told the women to ask CM KCR whether his daughter Kavitha would wear such sub-standard sarees.
Indicating a woman in the motley crowd, Kushboo said that the woman’s saree was better quality than the Bathukamma saree, which had been so generously distributed by the state government. She also criticised KCR for not inducting a single woman minister in the first cabinet of Telangana.
Kushboo said Caretaker CM K Chandrasekhar Rao had not bothered to keep the promise of 2BHK homes to the people, and instead he had constructed Pragati Bhavan with a whopping `300 crores.
She predicted that Congress would probably win the Assembly elections.
She said the aspirations of the people of the state would only be met if the Congress came to power and appealed to citizens to elect Congress nominees in the ten constituencies in old Adilabad district. Adilabad district party working president, Naresh Jadhav and minority department president, Sajid Khan were also present at the poll meeting.
