TRS members accused of targeting TD

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 341 and 290 of IPC and has started investigation.

Hyderabad: A large number of Telugu Desam workers staged protest in front of Sanathnagar police station, demanding action against the supporters of Telangana Rashtra Samiti for making baseless allegations of cash distribution.

On Monday evening, three persons on unregistered bikes intercepted the car of TD supporter Tedula Narsimha and demanded to open the doors to check transporting of cash, they said.

Mr Narsimha, driver of TD's Sanathnagar candidate Kuna Venkatesh Goud’s son K. Gouri Shankar, was the visiting the colonies in the constituency to campaign for Mr Goud on Monday evening when his car was stopped.

Following the incident, Mr Goud and hundreds of TD supporters reached Sanathnagar police station and staged a protest demanding action against the TRS supporters who tried to create trouble and defame them by making allegations of distributing cash. The mob dispersed only after the police assured to take necessary action. “Around 7 pm when I was going to Czech Colony, three persons followed me on three unregistered bikes and intercepted my car, saying that I was carrying money to be distributed to the residents. They were associates of Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav. They wanted to put some cash in my car and trap me in police case. I alerted the police through Dial 100,” stated Narsimha in his complaint to the Sanathnagar police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 341 and 290 of IPC and has started investigation.
