Apollo Hospitals did its best to save Jayalalitha, says Prathap C Reddy
Chennai: The founder and chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Dr Prathap C Reddy on Tuesday reiterated that the hospital and the doctors at Apollo did their best while treating the former Tamil Nadu chief minister late J Jayalalitha.
“Apollo Hospitals has shared all the documents with the inquiry commission regarding former chief minister Jayalalitha and I do not need to comment on the functioning of the inquiry commission,” he said while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in the city on Tuesday.
When questioned about contradictory statements by the technicians of Apollo hospitals appearing for the inquiry in Arumugasamy inquiry commission regarding the treatment given to former Chief Minister after the placement of ECMO, Apollo chairman said that the probe is already on and as a chairman, he does not want to comment upon it.
“It is known that Apollo has done as good as any other hospital in this world could have done. I have provided all the information to the media and the commission is thoroughly going through it. We did our best possible,” said Dr Prathap Reddy.
Apollo chairman had earlier stated that the hospital and doctors do not fear any inquiry as Apollo did its best to restore the health of former Chief Minister but unfortunately could not save her.
The one-man commission under retired Madras High Court judge, Justice Arumugasamy has examined as many as 100 witnesses to probe the mystery surrounding the death of J Jayalalitha.
