Policy must on disaster management: P K Krishnadas

The government is not literate to handle the situation; these leaders may be literate in violence but not in governance,\" he said.

Kozhikode: BJP national executive member P.K. Krishnadas on Monday asked the state government to formulate a disaster management policy immediately. Quoting the CAG’s report on general and social sectors, he said even the VHF systems in the state were not functioning, and the government's failure resulted in the rise of casualties, though the natural calamities are unpreventable.

“The government is not literate to handle the situation; these leaders may be literate in violence but not in governance," he said. "Inefficiency and ignorance of the minister led to the increase in the death toll. The government could not give an alert or make preparations, even after the national agencies served a warning.”
