Flyover, big relief at Biodiversity junction
Hyderabad: Urban development minster K.T. Rama Rao on Monday inaugurated the second level flyover at the Biodiversity junction, which will bring much-needed relief to motorists in the IT corridor.
The minister and his entourage travelled on the 990-metre flyover which starts at Orion SEZ and ends at Biodiversity junction which heads towards Mindspace and Shilpakala Vedika.
The uni-directional flyover will ease traffic from Mehdipatnam and Khajaguda towards Mindspace. It also improves connectivity between Hitec City and Financial District. By creating additional road space, it will save travel time and fuel and reduces pollution.
Constructed at a cost Rs 69.47 crore under Package-4 of the state government’s Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP). it will provide conflict-free movement for traffic at the Biodiversity junction.
After the inauguration, Mr Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for a flyover at the Shilpa Layout. A four-lane bidirectional flyover is being constructed from Shilpa Layout to the Gas Godown. An underpass will be built at the Gas Godown road, and a six-lane bi-directional flyover will begin from Kondapur and end at Gachibowli junction, leading to Outer Ring Road (ORR).
All three projects together will cost an estimated Rs 330 crore.
Mr Rama Rao was accompanied by education minister Sabita Indra Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and GHMC officials.
