K Chandrasekhar Rao ran away, says Prof M Kodandaram Reddy

I have never seen a Chief Minister who was never available to the people and public representatives, Mr Kodandaram said.

Warangal: TJS chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram Reddy said it was the duty of the people to question the rulers when they neglect the welfare of the public. “It does not necessarily require one to run away and call for an early election,” he said at a rally, ‘Orugallu Poru Yatra’, here on Sunday.

Calling caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s move to dissolve the Assembly before it ran its full term as unconstitutional, the TJS chief said Mr Rao took the decision out of fear. “Several promises including 2BHK houses and three-acre land for Dalits were left unfulfilled,” he pointed out. “I have never seen a Chief Minister who was never available to the people and public representatives,” he said.

Prof. Kodandaram said the TJS had joined the Mahakutami to bring create the Telangana that the people aspired for. “The purpose of the statehood agitation and the sacrifices made by hundreds of students has not been served in the past four and a half years,” he said.

He alleged that Mr Rao had only concentrated on earning money and had not bothered about the people of the state. “Warangal was the epicentre of the Telangana agitation. The people must once again raise their fists to put an end to the tyrannical rule of Mr Rao,” he said.

On the redesigning of the Kaleshwaram project, he said there was no need for three barrages. Building one near Ellampalli would have brought water to Warangal.
