Hyderabad: With the help of information from the police and related departments, polling stations will be categorised as normal and critical. Seven districts are declared Left-wing extremism-affected, but the activity levels of Maoists in these districts are low, a senior police officer said.

Once the polling stations are assessed based on vulnerability and sensitivity, the same data will be placed on a digital platform for officials as well as those monitoring polling activities in the Election Commission.

“Our aim is to see that there is peace and that people come out and cast their vote. All arrangements are being done to ensure foolproof voting,” said Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar.

Apart from Hyderabad, police officials in Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerate are also undertaking area sensitisation marches in their respective jurisdictions to instil confidence in the public.
