Hyderabad: Missing polythene bag with Rs 10 lakh puzzles police
Hyderabad: Special teams of Cyberabad police have been hunting for a polythene bag with Rs 10 lakh in cash, which was reportedly thrown into a garbage bin at Radhakrishnanagar, Rajendranagar, a couple of days back.
The police has now arrested the watchman of the house from where the bag was taken and dumped in the bin.
Realtor Raji Reddy said he had kept the bag containing the cash in his house and noticed on November 2 that it was missing. He inquired about it but no one seemed to know of its whereabouts. Mr Raji Reddy then complained to the Rajendranagar police.
The police questioned the family members and the house staff and found that the watchman had thrown the bag into a garbage bin thinking that it contained trash. The garbage was picked by an auto tipper and dumped at the dumping yard in Kattedan.
At Kattedan, the police learnt that the garbage had been shifted to Jawaharnagar. They rushed there to search for the bag with the help of workers, but could not find it.
The police reviewed their strategy and came to the conclusion that the watchman had lied to them in the first place. A fresh investigation was started and the watchman was picked up for interrogation.
Confirming the chase around the garbage bins, Rajendranagar inspector G. Suresh said, “The teams did not find anything in the garbage dumps. We strongly suspect the watchman’s role and questioning is on to find the truth.”
