Hyderabad: The Cybercrime Police of Rachakonda on Saturday arrested N. Abhishek Goud, son of the TRS corporator from Malkajgiri, N Jagadeeshwar Goud.
After the arrest, the police found that Abhishek Goud had deleted all the data in his mobile phone and had destroyed the device having come to know that a case has been registered against him.
According to the police, the 25-year-old complainant, who has a Facebook account, received a friend request from a profile with the account name “Vara Darling”. As the profile picture was of a girl, she accepted the friend request. She then began receiving messages asking her for online sex and also received videos of explicit content on her Facebook messenger. When she tried to reprimand the sender for these vulgar messages and videos, she received a morphed photograph of a nude girl with her face.
The sender threatened to send her morphed photographs to all her contacts and post them on porn websites if she did not accept his demands and did not respond to his messages.
Two days after this threat, she received another similarly morphed picture. Unable to bear this harassment, she approached the police.
The police managed to identify the account as being operated by Abhishek Goud and based on a tip-off he was traced to Nagole crossroads on Friday night. On inquiry, he confessed to operating the Facebook account of “Vara Darling.”
He admitted that he had been sending friend requests to different women on Facebook.
Once a user accepted the friend request, he would ask them to do cybersex by inviting them to come on video chat. Whoever refused his demand, he created their nude morphed pictures and threatened them by sending the same to their Facebook messenger,’ said Racha-konda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat in an official release.
Goud is a serial offender. He was arrested by the SHE teams of the Hyderabad police in September and was sent to remand. He was out on conditional bail and was appearing before the SHE teams every week.
“We also found that he is wanted in a similar case registered against him two weeks ago with the cybercrime cell of Rachakonda,” added the release.
