Telangana: Cement blocks to fix water stagnation points

Mr Ramakrishna said that both the GHMC and SCB were told to explore this method for increasing the life of tar-topped roads.

Hyderabad: With water stagnation on bitumen roads leading to damage, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board is banking on a new method to overcome the perennial problem. Board vice-president J. Ramakrishna said that they would be fixing cement blocks wherever stagnation was found serious on BT roads.

“The stagnation point will be dug up to a small extent to fix the cement blocks which can withstand water better than the BT road that gets damaged quickly. We will implement this method in the road repairs that will commence shortly,” he said. Mr Ramakrishna said that both the GHMC and SCB were told to explore this method for increasing the life of tar-topped roads in the city.
